One of our clients has instructed us to offer for sale this street barrel piano. The piano was previously restored by us with the exception of the barrel, approximately twenty five years ago and it was used as part of a private house collection, but has not been used for some years. Since then it has been kept in dry storage.
This piano was originally built as a clockwork café piano then later converted to a street piano by the East Anglian Automatic Piano Company (A.O Wintle).
The pianos conversion and re pinning was done very late and towards the end of Cannon Wintle's life.
The piano looks very aesthetically pleasing but will require work to some of the tunes on the barrel, please contact us for further details. It would make an excellent static visual exhibit for a museum or private collection.
The tunes listed on the tune sheet are as follows:- Dam Buster March, In a Persian Market, La Paloma, My Hero, On the Quarter Deck, Colonel Bogey, Toselli's Serenata, Roses of Picardy, In a Monastery Garden , Vienna Blood.
As the barrel piano has been in store and the owner is looking to dispose of this part of his collection, we are looking for offers. Please telephone us to discuss should you be interested, all offers will be considered.
This barrel piano could be of interest to somebody looking to take their first steps in to collecting mechanical musical instruments or a museum looking for a static visual exhibit; it might even suit an amateur restorer who is willing to do some work. Why not contact us today to discuss the purchase of this piano.
